Wanda Nichols Stone, age 74, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at Baptist Health, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on March 25, 1947, to the late Jonathan Nichols and Heelen Fryman Nichols. She was a veteran teacher for the Harrison County school system, teaching and caring for children for more than 30 years.
She is survived by: her husband of 51 years, Walter Stone; a son, Chris (Robin) Stone; a daughter, Kim Stone-Yonts; a sister, Pam Snapp; and four grandchildren, Luke Stone, Alli Stone, Reagan Yonts and Kendall Hacker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 304 Whittington Road, Suite 102, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.
