Brenda Dawn Baker, 63, of Albion, died at 3:56 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted the day before. Born on December 1, 1958, in Middletown, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Clarence and Ida Irene (Manning) Watson. Growing up in Morgan County, Kentucky, she graduated from Morgan County High School in 1976. On December 23, 1977, she married Michael J. Baker. They made their first home in Ezel, KY. In 1989 they moved to Pierceton, Indiana, and in 2006 to Albion. Michael died on July 9, 2021. In addition to being a full-time homemaker raising two daughters, she had worked for Riverside Manufacturing in Kendallville. Her priority was always family. She loved to host family gatherings and prepare the meal. In addition to her delicious homecooked meals, she is remembered for her baked goods especially, her carrot cake and fudge. She was always ready for a competitive game of euchre or phase 10. Surviving are her daughters, Michelle Dawn Moehring of Columbia City and Christina (Dillion Hopkins) Baker of Albion; grandchildren Destiny Baker, Joseph Moehring, Shawn Moehring, and Jasper Baker; a great-grandson Jesse Conway; and brothers Joseph D. (Cathy) Watson of Louisville, KY and Charles (Jennifer) Watson of Jeffersonville, KY.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Melissa Baker; and two sisters, Wilma Tolson and Mary Caroline Gevedon. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, Indiana, is in charge of arrangements.
