Jackie Diann Box Murphy, 73, passed away on July 9, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on April 16, 1947 to the late Donald Nathan "Mike" and Hattie Lee Neal Box.
Jackie, a lifetime resident of Choctaw County, and her late husband, Robert Lewis Murphy were married for forty-two years and reared five children together. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with them. Other special things the grandchildren enjoyed doing with their grandmother was antiquing, going to yard sales and auctions, and fishing. Her family said that she was a great cook. Her chicken and dressing was one of a kind. She served as an assistant pastor for approximately five years with the Grace Emmanuel Full Gospel Ministry.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Perrigan and his wife, Kathy of Eupora and Joseph Nason Murphy of Ackerman; one daughter, Lisa Diann Nalory of Ackerman; one sister, Robbie Lee Bruce and her husband, Billy, of Yazoo City; five grandchildren, Angel Perrigan, Salaste Paden, Tessia Bond, Aaron Bond, and Lexie Black-Murphy; and five great grandchildren, Mikela Gunter, Jace Gunter, Tatum Gunter, Aniyah Murphy; and Alana Paden.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Nathan "Mike" and Hattie Lee Neal Box; her late husband, Robert Lewis Murphy; one son, Robert Lewis "Bob" Murphy; one daughter, Vickie Lee Murphy; two brothers, Wardell Box and George Dillard Box; and one sister, Janell Box.
A graveside service for immediate family only will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Joe Paden, Jr., Aaron Bond, Mike Perrigan, Ronnie Perrigin, and Gary Perrigin. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
