David Alan Russell, age 59, of Quincy, died on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 5:55 PM in Blessing Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 9:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home with military rites conducted. Memorials may be made to Great River Honor Flight or the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund. He was born on December 4, 1962, in Quincy, the son of Marvin and Joan (Ehrhardt) Russell. He was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame and attended John Wood Community College. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. David married Susan Kaltenbach on April 19, 2016, in Quincy and she survives.

David loved playing cards, especially euchre. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins. David also volunteered at the Illinois Veterans Home.

In addition to his wife, David is also survived by:
HIS FATHER: Marvin Russell of Quincy
SIBLINGS: Rick Russell (Donna); Janice Nord (Ken); Sherri Musholt (Tim) and Melissa Flanagan (James)
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
