CASSADY, Arthur Hunter - Of Flint, age 82, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Gregg Mayberry officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University Of Wisconsin Cancer Center or Genesys Hospice. Visitation 12-8PM Thursday and 11AM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Arthur was born in Paris, Ontario, Canada on January 23, 1924, the son of the late Allan and Irene (Graham) Cassady. He married Sally Ann Rose on May 10, 1946 and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2006. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Cassady was employed by General Motors Plant 38 for 50 years, retiring in 1991. Surviving are children, Russ and wife Patty of Flint; Chuck and wife Carol of East Lansing, Andy and wife Suzie of Markesan, Wisconsin, Nancy and husband Dick Mayberry of Goodrich; 10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; 2 step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Cassady of Davison; brother-in-law, Russ (Dinny) and wife Pat Rose of Hale. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ernie, Robert, and Bruce; sister, Jane Chaltraw; step-father, George Hunter; step-mother, Ethel Cassady; 1/2 brother, Cliff Cassady and step-brother, Bob Hunter.
