Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 7, 1997 at the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Glen Troyer

Glen Allen Troyer, the son of John and Katie (Schrock) Troyer, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on Augusts 13, 1912, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 4, 1997, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

He grew up and received his education at Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School in 1930.

On August 7, 1938, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Oswald, at Aurora.

He owned and operated the Sinclair Bulk Plant for many years, and later was elected Hamilton County Assessor, a position held for 16 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the County Assessors Association of Nebraska and served as president for a time. He was also a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers, and he received the first Certified Assessment E valuator to be given in Nebraska.

Glen was a life time member of the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church, where he served on the Church Board and was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Gideons International for a number of years. He belonged to the Aurora Rotary Club, and served a term as president. He also served on the Aurora School Board and the Aurora City Council.

For the past nine years he resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Alice Kremer.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy of Aurora; two sons, Dr. Gary Troyer and his wife Leslie of Tubac, Arizona, and Dr. Dean Troyer of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Betty Cunningham and her husband Richard of Rochester, New York, and Jane Terrell and her husband Rich of Grand Island; 6 grandchildren, Juliann, Susan, Daniel, and Katie Cunningham and Shane and Shawna Smith.
