Laura Jean White, 48, of North Vernon, passed away on January 7, 2022, at her residence. Laura was born on August 10, 1973, the daughter of the late James and Rhona (Jackson) White.

Laura was a 1972 graduate of Jennings County High School and earned her LPN associate degree. She worked as a LPN for over 20 years, she had worked at the Lutheran Home in Seymour, she made many friends while being and LPN.

Laura had been Raul's biggest cheerleader in all his sports. Raul was in archery in elementary school and he started playing football in 3rd grade and continued through high school. He started playing basketball at 5 years old in a peewee league. Laura rarely ever missed one of his games. Her boys were her life. The night Laura passed away she became their Hero Angel.

Survivors include her sons, Raul Ruiz and Draidyn Herrell, both of North Vernon; sisters, LauRhona LaCroix of North Vernon and Darla (Robert) Tascott of Hayden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, John White Sr. and Gertrude (Ellis) White and Stanley and Laura (Courtney) Jackson; brother, Stanley Woodrow Everett White and sister, Jamelle Marie White.

A funeral service for Laura will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Rudicel Family Event Center, 408 South State Street, North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Rudicel Family Event Center. Burial will be in the Rising Sun Cemetery in Rising Sun.
Memorials may be made in honor of Laura through the funeral home for expenses.
