Glenn Sanders Smith, age 88, of Dallas passed away January 8th, 2022 surrounded by his family. Glenn proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. His Naval service took him around the world and especially treasured his time in the Philippines and Hawaii. He was a prolific storyteller and would captivate his audience with stories of his service. Glenn loved spending time with his family and friends, and the highlight of his week was having breakfast with the "Romeo" Club.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva Smith; son, Ralph "Ed" Smith; siblings, Kermit, Evangeline, Lavell, Wylene, and Von; and son-in-law, Andy Stephens. He is survived by his children, Jan Stephens of Villa Rica, and Jay Smith (spouse, Moon Ray Lo) of Morris Plains, NJ; grandchildren, Nathan Slack (spouse, Micah), Jamie Gunnels (spouse, Matt), Rebecca Hewitt (spouse, Tommy); Annie Smith, Cynthia Smith, Chad Smith, and their mother, Loretta; and Jessica Smith (spouse, Grady); and great-grandchildren, C.J. Slack, Isabella Slack, Lilly Hewitt, Hadley Hewitt, and Elijah Gunnels.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Larry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 13th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family kindly asks that those that feel led to send flowers please send live plants in celebration of a life well-lived.

Anyone attending the visitation or the funeral service is asked to please wear masks and observe social distancing. For anyone that does not have a mask, some will be provided at the front of the funeral home.
