Born January 28, 1945 in Carey, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hulda (Kentfield) Bentz. She married William Blair and they were divorced.
Mary is survived by four children: Terry (Michelle) Kniceley of Mansfield, Partick (April Pfeiffer) Blair of Carey, Traci (Aaron) Hoepf of Carey and Michelle Schafer of Carey; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Gary Kniceley, a great granddaughter and three sisters: Joan Thompson, Laura Ruffing and Barbara Eddington.
Mary attended Carey High School and retired from Budd Co. in Carey. She had also worked at Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky.
She was a life member of the Eagles Aerie 2198 and a member of Our Lady of Consolation both in Carey.
Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved her cats. Anyone who knew Mary always knew where they stood. She called a spade a spade.
Visitation will be 4 – 8pm on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Toby Risner officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
