U.S. Air Force Veteran
Andrew P. Johnson, of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Saturday September 25, 2021 under the care of Vitas Hospice at the Center at Eden Hill, Dover. He was 84.

He was born in Blue Ridge, VA on August 19, 1937, the son of the late Lester Johnson & Mary Madeline Brugh. He had lived in Tonganoxie KS and Bedford VA prior to moving to Delaware.

Andy retired from the Town of Elkton, MD, and had worked for the Towns of Rock Hall, MD, Middletown, DE, and Smyrna, DE. He owned and operated Western Auto in Smyrna for 3 Years, and was also a real estate agent for a number of years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a past member of the Jaycees.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Johnson; children Paige Keith, Andrew Parke Johnson, Allen P. Johnson, Paulette Henchek, James E. McGuire, Robert E. McGuire, and Randy McGuire; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ester Hughes, and Margaret Moses.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Ann Anderson, and Billy and Jimmy Johnson.

A visitation will be held 7-9:00 PM Thursday September 30 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where services will be held 11:00 AM Friday October 1. Pastor Rob Townsend will officiate. Burial will be in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, MD.

A reception will be held Friday Oct. 1 at 1:00 PM at the Millington VFW Post, 30922 River Rd, Millington, MD 21651.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Vitas Healthcare, 100 Commerce Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966.
