Chester Allen Wilson, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Pilgrim Manor in Grand Rapids, MI. He lived in Grand Rapids for the past 2 years formerly of St. Helen, MI.

Chester was born on September 26, 1925 in Gillmore, KY to Boyd and Lizzie (Burcham) Wilson.

He served in the United States Navy. Chester worked for Washtenaw County Sheriff Department as a captain for 18 years and retired from Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority after 22 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Chester is survived by his children, Tammy Carter of KY, Allen (Shari) Wilson of Belding, MI, and Michelle (Mike) Doyel of Jackson, MI; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Wilson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, children Phyllis (Burt) Riley, Chester Wilson, Janet (Tim) Hall, grandson Scott, brother Boyd, and son-in-law Rockie Carter.

The Funeral Service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Township Cemetery with military honors.
