He finished his journey here on earth on January 3,2022, he has moved on to his new journey to Heaven. He was 94 years young, lived a good life, saw many changes, and was a dedicated Christian. He was married to my mom, Melba Bruce for 73 years and they lived in the same house for 60 years. They lived independently until a week ago. He lived a simple life, worked hard, and loved his family. They have a great love for the Lord and Watters Road Church of Christ and have attended there for 60 years.
My Dad was born on March 12, 1927, to James Lemuel Bruce and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Jackson in London, Texas. After James graduated from London High School, he went on to work with a local oil company. They moved to Pasadena, Tx in 1950. James went to work for Lewis Electric, becoming a Licensed Electrician. He eventually went to work for Pasadena Bayshore Hospital in Maintenance as their Licensed Electrician and retired in 1992.
James was predeceased by his parents James Lemuel Bruce and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Jackson. He is survived by wife Melba D Bruce, son Delray Bruce & wife Esmelda Bruce, son Jerry Bruce & wife Lynn Bruce and daughter Kandy McGill & husband Bruce McGill. And several grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00pm with service immediately following at 2:00pm.
