Joseph Edward Henry, age 66, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.

Born January 31, 1955 in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Bessie Marie Henry.

He attended Berkeley Baptist Church. Joe was a graduate of Hancock High School. He served with the U.S. Army from February 4, 1974 until his honorable discharge at the rank of SP4 on January 27, 1976 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He worked as a plumber with Thompson Gas and Hunter's Hardware. He also worked at Rayloc and Hancock Plumbing and as a bus driver with Morgan County Public Schools. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and ride motorcycles.

Joe is survived by his children, Cory Joseph Henry and his fiancée, Lori Morris of Berkeley Springs, WV and Sarah Yvonne Henry of Berkeley Springs, six sisters, Susan Marie Golden of Herndon, VA, Rebecca Ann Stotler of Hedgesville, WV, Miriam Elizabeth Burriss and Ruth Christine Shives, both of Hancock, MD, Sally Kay Breeden of Berkeley Springs and Anna Lee Booth of Buck Valley, PA, two brothers, Wayne Nathaniel "Sam" Henry of Hancock and Jeffrey Lynn Watson of Berkeley Springs, four grandchildren, Cedric Troy Henry, Gracey Mae Henry, Hayden Riley Henry and McKenna Rose Henry, all of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rodney Truax and Pastor Joey Giles will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, MD.

In lieu of flowers contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be made directly to the funeral home.
