Services are Saturday, Jan. 08, 2022, Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral at 10AM. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Joshua Daniel Yates was born on December 30, 1987, to Tonjia Yates and Jerald Jerome Gasaway, in Beaumont, TX. He was raised by the love of his life, his grandmother Joyce Marie Bodwin & Rick.

Joshua graduated from Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School in 2006. He attended LIT for engineering, and also graduated from Vista College as a medical assistant. Joshua caught the heart of Pam Jolivet, where he attended her private Phlebotomist School, where he received his degree as a licensed Phlebotomist (made his Granny very proud). Joshua loved being a phlebotomist and was known as a good stick. He worked at various places like SETMA, Plasma Center, St. Elizabeth, and Riceland, where his patients actually came there looking for him. Joshua accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Delbert A. Mack Sr. Joshua loved the lord and was very active in church; he was in youth choir, youth ministry, a Sunday school teacher, WANA member, Usher Board Member, and volunteered whenever he had a chance. He loved visiting the nursing home, feeding the homeless, and feeding less than fortunate youth. Joshua was a happy people person and never met a stranger, always helping someone, talking with someone, and praying for someone. He loved, to sing, dance, and even though he was always late, he was always the life of the party. Joshua Yates departed his life on Friday, December 31, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Glena Yates, Grandfather Jerry Yates Sr., Brother Alcolby Yates (AJ), Uncle Joseph Durousseau III (JD), Aunt Waneil Yates-King (Nanny Neil) (Ted), Aunt Cynthia Yates-Francis, Aunt Lucy Faye Moye, Uncle George Yates (Guy), & Cousins Donald Ray Moye, David Guidry, & Glen Boudreaux.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his beloved grandmother, biggest supporter, & love of his life he called "Momma" Joyce Marie Bodwin, Grandfather Richard Bodwin Sr., Mother Tonjia Yates-Jones (Norris), Father Jerald Gasaway (Lorena), only sister & bestie Samantha Yates[1]Grant, A sisterly best friend Sheryl Jackson, all of Beaumont, TX.
