Eric Michael Bowen, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on December 31, 2021, at the age of 32. He was born on October 19, 1989, in Metairie, Louisiana. Eric is the beloved son of William Bowen and Michelle Juneau Arthur and Charles Arthur Jr.; cherished brother of Kevin Bowen, Carly Arthur, and Charles Arthur III; and admired grandson of Merrill Juneau, Tillie Larroux (Leonard), and Jeannie Deyo (Butch). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eric showed loyal companionship and unconditional love for his adored pets Polo, Domino, and Gypsy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Francis Bowen and Mary Jean Turner Bowen.
Eric attended Salmen High School, where he played football as a linebacker. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. Eric successfully completed courses in Toxic Agent Training, Warfighter Hazmat First Responder training, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist course for Hazardous Materials Operations. Eric bravely served during the Iraq War, earning numerous recognitions, such as the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge. After an Honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, Eric attended the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix.
Funeral service was held at noon on Monday, January 10, 2022 in the chapel at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.
Eric was laid to rest in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30 p.m.
