Albert William Shomaker Sr. was born Dec. 15, 1940, at Winona, Mo., the son of Theodore Shomaker and Rachel (Yardley) Shomaker. He passed away Dec. 17, 2007, at Winona, Mo., at the age of 67 years. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Marie Yoder on Feb. 8, 1959, at Winona, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Rachel Shomaker; one brother, Cecil Shomaker; one sister, Helen Norton; one grandson, Issac Bradshaw; and one granddaughter, Amanda Martin. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Shomaker, of their home in Dexter, Mo.; his children, Cindy Marie Shomaker of Dexter, Mo., Rebecca Martin of Birch Tree, Mo., Loree Brown and husband Mike of Bloomfield, Mo., Shelia Minehart and husband Jerry of Dexter, Mo., Albert W. Shomaker Jr. of Winona, Mo., Kathy Shomaker of Bloomfield, Mo., Jamie Martin and husband Brian of Dexter, Mo., and Melissa Bivens of Washington; two sisters, Betty Norris of Winona, Mo., and Dessie Yates and husband Howard of Birch Tree, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, Curtis Baker, Michael Shemwell, Daniel Bradshaw, Samuel Bradshaw, Angel Martin, Autumn Martin, Andrea Martin, Elizabeth Ward, Emily Hunsaker, Danny Minehart, Albert Shomaker III, Richard Shomaker, Adam Shomaker, Breanna Bivens, Nicole Bivens, Toren McElroy and Mason Wallace. Albert worked in the logging woods until he became disabled at an early age. He became a Full Gospel minister, and pastored a church on Highway H at Winona, Mo. Albert had also preached at many of the area churches. He and Carolyn had moved to Dexter, Mo., 11 years ago, but he always considered Winona his home. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, Mo., with Brother Richard Bergen officiating. Interment was in Pinelawn Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona, Mo.
