James Edward "Ed" Yates, of Ellicott City, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at the age of 75.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years and best friend, Melodee Jo Yates (nee Goldberg); cherished sister, Sandra Jett; and many wonderful nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Katherine Rebecca (nee Ridgley) and Thomas Edward Yates.

Ed graduated from Catonsville Community College and Johns Hopkins University with an Associates and Bachelors degree in Engineering; going on to work for Lucent Technologies (nee Western Electric) for 33 years.
When Ed was younger, he enjoyed playing tennis and fast-pitched softball, and then golf, which he continued after retirement.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Monday, January 10th, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park; 2724 Liberty Road, Sykesville, Maryland 21784.
