James Everett Villines, age 71, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma died, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.

He was born on Wednesday, July 26, 1950, to J.E. and Margaret McAnally Villines in Konawa, Oklahoma.

Everett was an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman for many years where he had the honor of guarding two United States Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. He later became a driver's license examiner in Hugo, Idabel, and Broken Bow.

In all things, Everett always put God first and was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed leading music at different churches that he attended over the years and loved singing old hymns.

In his younger years, Everett enjoyed playing softball. Everett loved to travel and went on many adventures. Among the places he visited, Australia was his favorite. Everett was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend that will be missed by all who knew him.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents J.E. and Margaret Villines.

Everett is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Villines of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; brothers, Bob Villines of Maude, Oklahoma and John Villines of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Nelda Villines of Africa along with several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
