Nahunta-Rev. Joe "Jody" Lee Griffin, 72, of Nahunta, passed away Wednesday evening (January 5, 2022) at Memorial Satilla Health following a brief illness.
Born in Folkston, GA. and his parents were Joe Lee Griffin, SR. and Nancy Walker Griffin. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Diane Allen Griffin , 1 sister Lois Lewis, and a brother, Jerome Griffin.
Jody was the pastor at Young's Island Community Church and served in the United States Army. He loved fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. But most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L. Griffin of Nahunta, and Rev. Carl Griffin (April) of Bachlott, 1 daughter and her husband, Sherry Rebollo (Ausencio) of Nahunta; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey Griffin, JR., Emily Griffin, Andrew Rebollo, Alex Rebollo, Little Jody Griffin, J.C. Griffin, Jess Griffin, and Anna Griffin; 1 brother and his wife, J.L. Griffin (Gretchen) of Mobile, AL., a brother-in-law, Red Lewis of Hoboken: a special friend Jimmy Mancil. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives . And a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday(January 8, 2022) from 2 PM-3PM at Bachlotte Community Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday (January 8, 2022) at 3PM at Bachlott Community Church of God with Rev. Chuck Allen, Rev. Jason Marden, and Rev. Ion Johns officiating.
Burial will follow in Bachlott Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ausencio Rebollo, Andrew Rebollo, Alex Rebollo, Little Jody Griffin, Michael Flowers, and Dustin Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Lee and Virgil Willis.
Due to COVID-19 we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
