On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Michael Howard Parker, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 73.

He was born on February 3, 1948 in Mobile, AL to Henry and Mary Margaret Parker. After graduating from Vigor High School in 1966, he attended the University of South Alabama. He worked for Alabama State Docks for 42 years, before retiring in 2010.

Mike had a special ability to talk to anyone from all walks of life. He loved to make people laugh and often had the room in stitches. His family members picked up many of his classic sayings which will always be repeated and shared with others. He enjoyed swimming at the creek, fishing, listening to classic country and southern Gospel music, reading poetry and novels, traveling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He we will always be remembered and missed by his loved ones.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Henry, Charles, and Kenneth. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Balyn, his daughter Jennifer (Billy) Adams, brother Rennie (Becky) Parker, sister Syliva (Jack) Pickett, sons Ryan Amacker, Joey (Megan) Amacker, Jarrod (Jacqueline) Amacker, and grandchildren Walker Adams, Bennett Adams, Kalyn Amacker, and Ronin Amacker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 9700 Celeste Rd. Saraland, Alabama. The family will be accepting friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mercy Ministries of Whistler.
