Eugene "Gene" Howard Mitchell of North Fort Myers Fl. passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fl. Gene was born April 8, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Duncan "Howard" and Hilda (Godfrey) Mitchell. Gene attended Wayne State Universty in Detroit and worked at Fisher Body a division of GM in Human Resources starting in the mailroom and working his way up to management. Gene served in the US Army stationed in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack, and half brother Omar (who died on the same date in 1992). A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Johns the Apostle MCC, 3049 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, Fl at 11:00 am, Saturday January 8, 2022.
