She divorced him in 1901 amongst accusations of infidelities on his part. She married second Woodbury Kane on March 27, 1905 in Aiken, South Carolina. Woodbury died suddenly on December , 1905. Sallie was reported to have been engaged to a Jack Mason in 1908, but no marriage from this union could be found. She married third to Douglas Howard Gill in London on May 28, 1912. At the time of her death, she was living at the Henry Hudson Hotel in New York City. She was survived by her son, Robert Hargous Elliot, a grandson Robert Elliot Jr, a granddaughter Mrs. Hebert W. Bolles of Wakefield, the former Elizabeth Sands Elliot and a great grandson, Elliot Foster Bolles.
