Billie Ruth Kilgore, 93, of Saginaw, Texas passed from this life on December 24, 2021, in Fort Worth Texas.

Billie was born on October 12, 1928, in San Angelo, Texas to Enola Alice (Spencer) Adams and Garland Lee Adams. On August 9,1944 she married Billy McKinley Kilgore. They went on to have 3 children, fulfilling her lifelong wish to be a mother. They moved from Brownwood, Texas to Odessa, Texas in 1956. Billie was an accomplished seamstress, making most of the family's clothes and countless beautiful baby blankets. She was a bookkeeper for a carpet company for 30 years. She was an extraordinary, caring, and selfless mother. Billie was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church for nearly 50 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. In 2003, she and Bill were delighted to move to Fort Worth and live close to all their children and many of their grandchildren. Her treasured grandchildren called her Mama Boots from her nickname Boots. She joined First Baptist Church of Saginaw and continued her love of singing in the choir and was a member of the Love Sunday School group.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years in 2012, and her precious son, Billy McKinley Kilgore, Jr. in 2007, and her beloved sister, Dorothy Margaret Layne in 2016.


She is survived by her daughters, Nancy James Boyd of Granbury and Janie Gayle Romine and husband, Rick of Saginaw; grandchildren, Rebecca Fields, Matthew Kilgore and his wife, Theresa, JJ James, Jacqueline James and husband, Ben, Toni Lindsey and husband, Justin, Sarah Lay and husband, Landon, Adam Romine and wife, Michele; eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grand daughter.

She delighted in serving her God and loving her family.

Graveside service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2021, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas Texas. with Don McCall officiating.
