James Robert Skinner, 74, of Lumberton, Texas, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born on July 5, 1947, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, to Lillian Salch Skinner and Frank L. Skinner.

James (Jim) grew up In Bloomfield, New Jersey and was a proud member of the Bloomfield High School Class of 1965. He was also an Eagle Scout and a New Jersey State Archery Champion.

After high school, Jim married the love of his life, Maureen McFarland Skinner, and also started his career in food service management. His career with ARA/Aramark spanned many years and states, leading Jim and his family to live in New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. One of the highlights of Jim's career was serving dinner to then President George H.W. Bush at the 1988 Presidential Debate at Wake Forest University.

Jim's most notable job, however, was that of a loving husband, Dad, and Papa. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, ready to crack a joke or lend a hand whenever there was a need.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maureen McFarland Skinner; his parents; his brother, Thomas Skinner; his daughters, Michelle Skinner, Colleen Skinner, Laura Skinner, and his son, Thomas Skinner.

Friends and relatives are invited to Jim's graveside ceremony at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee, Texas. Please observe social distancing guidelines.
