Walter Leroy Ashley, 74, of Lynchburg, died on Friday, March 16, 2018.
Walter was born in Henry Co., VA on March 27, 1943 to the late Roy Walter Ashley and Sadie Elsie Spencer Ashley and was married to Patricia Hall Ashley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; children, David Ashley (Joan)of Lynchburg, Susan Woodward (Harold)of Madison, VA, and Kenneth Ashley (Michelle) of Appomattox, VA; one sister, Patty Kipfinger (Randy); two brothers, Chancie Ashley (Kim) and Wesley Ashley (Phyllis); 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Adams, brother-in-law Doug Adams, and son-in-law, Michael Allee.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018 at Lynchburg Church of Christ with Ray Eure officiating. Burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory from 5-7:00 p.m.
