Phillip L. Ford, Master Sergeant United States Air Force (Ret.), age 82, of Cabot, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  He was born March 2, 1939 in Minden, Louisiana to the late C.C. Ford and Christine Davidson Ford. 

Phillip graduated from Minden High School in 1957.  He played on 2 state championship football teams, one in 1954 and the second in 1956. While attending LSU, he played football for one year before head injuries no longer made it feasible.   He joined the Air Force in 1958.  His Air Force career spanned 20 years of dedicated service.  Phillip was awarded the Airman's Medal in 1963 for his heroic actions.  He served a total of 2 years in Vietnam and 3 years overseas in support of Vietnam.  He retired from Lockheed-Martin Co. as a senior engineer in 2002.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Mary O. Kornegay Ford; son, Kenneth Scott Ford and wife, Wanda of Cabot, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kenneth Ford (Eden; children, Kallie and Emily), Blake Ford (Anna; children, Evangeline and Thomas), Catherine Ford Sukup (Justin; children, Derick, Christine, Jackson, and Dawson) and Peter Ford (Sparrow); his brother, James L. Ford and wife. Linda of Virginia; two nephews, David and Andrew (Emily; children, Sophia, Alexandra, and Charlotte) and numerous cousins.

A special thank you to the Baptist Health Hospice Team who provided loving care to Phillip during his last days.  Memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306 or a charity of your choice.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.  Inurnment will be at a later date at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana.
