"Mr. Charles Ernie Reed, Sr., 70, died Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the Thomson Health and Rehabilitation Facility.

A funeral service will be held in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM, with Rev. James McCollum officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Reed was born in Lincoln County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a retired auto mechanic. He was an Army Veteran.

Survivors include his two sons, Charles Ernie Reed, Jr., of Beaufort and Vernon Roby Barnett (Holly), of Statham; his two sisters, Madge Land (Charles), of Thomson and Caroline Coleman (Bernard), of Augusta; his brother, Dale Reed (Brenda) of Washington, a stepbrother, Joe Richard Reed; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Curtis Funeral Home on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2:00 PM until the time of service.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements."
