Charles was born in Caldwell County to the late Charles Boston Hicks and Ola Arrwood Hicks. He served in the Navy, Army, and Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lee Kaylor Hicks; son, Patrick Hicks, granddaughter, Christy Eanes; grandson, Joshua Woods; son-in-law, Jackie Woods; and daughter-in-law, Judy Hicks.
Survivors include, his children, Carroll Hicks, Charles Hicks, III and wife Debra, Robin Coffey and husband Tony, Debra Woods, Enola Eanes, Ronnie Hicks and wife Susan; daughter-in-law, Kim Hicks; twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Pinecrest Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Baker officiating and military honors presented by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veteran's Honor Guard.
