Kathryn A. (Romano) King

February 2, 1926 – January 1, 2022

Kathryn A. (Romano) King, 95, of Norwalk, OH, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Wesley Woods Memory Care Unit in New Albany, OH.

Kathryn was born in Ravenna, OH on February 2, 1926, to the late Mariano and Carmella (Pisciotti) Romano.

Kathryn was a 1944 graduate of Ravenna High School. She married Bill King on May 28, 1949 and raised 3 boys in Ravenna. Bill was promoted with Chrysler, and following their son's graduation in 1973, the couple moved to Utica, Michigan. When Bill retired from Chrysler, they found a town similar to Ravenna in many ways, Norwalk, which was closer to their son's families. She was a loving mother and homemaker who had a strong passion for volunteering in all communities she resided in. She had a great pride and spent numerous volunteer hours working with Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Red Cross, and St. Paul Catholic School and Church, where she was a faithful member. Kathryn was an avid gardener and generally enjoyed working outdoors. She was a great neighbor, friend and family member. Her smile and personality was like the sun and illuminated every room she walked into. Kathryn will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathryn is survived by her two sons; three brothers; two sisters; three granddaughters; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her loving spouse, William P. King; son, Mike King; brothers, Leonard and Joseph Romano and sister, Anna (Leo) Wymer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 11 am until 12:30 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 before a procession to St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 for a 1 pm funeral Mass. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
