From "Beaverkill Valley-A Journey Through Time", pg 394: "WILLIAM AMOS WAMSLEY, son of Amos and Mary C. Wamsley, was born 30 June 1806 in Saratoga County, NY. He was baptized in 1806 at the Presbyterian Church, West Charlton, Saratoga County, NY. He moved to Cabin Hill with his family about 1830* where he met and married on 31 Mar 1833, PRUDENCE ROCKWELL, born 12 Aug 1814, Delaware County, NY, Rev. E. K. Maxwell officiating. He contracted typhoid fever and died on 15 May 1862 at Yorktown, Virginia, and is buried in the Yorktown National Cemetery. He also has a stone in the Hitt/Wamsley Cemetery in Lew Beach, where his wife PRUDENCE, who died 20 Oct 1884, is buried."
