Joshua Caleb "Josh" Watson, age 35, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, December 20th, 2021 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A native of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he was a son of Geoff and Lori Stillwell Watson of Burnsville.

Josh was preceded in death by a son, Trevor Matthew Watson; niece, Addyson "Addy" Watson; mother-in-law, Rachel Willis; maternal grandparents: Stephen and Patricia Stillwell, and paternal grandparents: Byron and Julietta Watson.

Josh was a member of The Grove Church in Spruce Pine. He was a car enthusiast who loved to learn about and work on cars, was a train collector, and loved Pokemon and Star Wars. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, nieces, nephews and his family.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his loving wife of 13 years, Catlin Watson; sons: Kaleb Bobby Watson and Matthew Connor Watson; father-in-law, Jim Willis (Rose) of Swannanoa; brother, Geoff Watson of Burnsville; sisters: Amanda and Melissa Watson, both of Burnsville; sisters-in-law: Nikki Fortner (Dennis) of Burnsville and Brinkley Ogle (Brandon) of Burnsville; maternal grandmother-in-law, Tennie English of Green Mountain; uncles and aunts: Byron Watson of Long Beach, CA, Drusilla Watson of Duryea, PA, and Scott Stillwell (Lori) of St. Augustine, FL; nieces and nephews: Randi Dougherty of Hawaii, Brittney Watson (Dylan Freeman) of Barnardsville, Marisa Watson, Brianna Willis, Mason Willis, Colton Ogle, Kobe Lucas, Remington Ogle, Carolina Watson and Tennie Ogle, all of Burnsville, Christie Freeman of Barnardsville, and Jade, Bryson, Zander and Chase Stillwell, all of St. Augustine, FL. Several other extended family also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 9th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Zack Mason will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the services.
