Rolly was the third son of Quincy Elton Morton and Isabelle Tannahill. He married Mae Gertrude Wieringa on 7 Sep 1911 in Cawker City, Jewell, Kansas.To this union were born six children, Ruth Evelyn, Donald Elton, Warren Eugene, Alberta Isabel, Dorothy Mae and Howard Leroy. He was a farmer at Moscow for many years. He tried his hand, with his brother, Glen, at a ranch on Taho Ridge, above Kooskia, but they found life a bit too rugged for their wives, Mae and Nettie. He returned to Moscow and farmed there until he moved to a farm near Pullman, Wash. in latter years. It was there he met and married Flossie Slosser.
