Glen Edward Sloan, 74, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Shawnee.

He was born March 19, 1947 to Ira and Lora (McCullar) Sloan in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Glen attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1965 from Shawnee High School.

After high school he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for 23 years retiring at the rank of Sargent First Class. He was stationed in Germany during most of his military career.

He married Sharon Sue Weaver on September 23, 1969 in Gainesville, Texas.

Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army he worked for the United Postal Service as a letter carrier for 20 years and as a hotshot driver from 2012 to 2016.

Glen enjoyed working on old cars and building and restoring hot rods with his nephew Bobby. He loved coloring, playing dominoes and enjoyed coaching little league baseball team while he was stationed in the military and was one out from making it to the Little League World Series. Glen's focal point in his life was always his family first.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lora Sloan; daughters, Shealene Renae Sloan and Kaylene Renae Sloan; granddaughter, Cordelia Sloan; and brother, Frankie Lee Sloan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Sharon Sloan of the home; 2 sons, Terry and Carrie Sloan of McGregor, TX and Kevin Sloan of Norman, OK; 6 grandchildren, Memery Sloan, Kaylen Sloan, Anya Sloan, Shealene Rose Sloan, Kiaya Denise Kerwin and Makayla Der; great-granddaughter, Hudson Renae Sloan; brother, Wayne and Linda Sloan of Tecumseh, OK; sister-in-law, Neoma Johnson; nephew, Bobby Sloan; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Terry Johnston, First Baptist Church, McGregor, Texas officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
