Mike was a 1962 graduate of Kokomo High School. He worked for General Motors for 43 years. He was a Union Committeeman, Tradesmen and Union President for UAW 292. He coached his sons in Indian Heights youth baseball, YMCA flag football and Babe Ruth baseball. Mike loved his grandchildren dearly and he enjoyed watching them play their sporting events. He loved playing golf as well.
Mike is survived by his children, Micheal J. (Kelly) Barrett, Denise (Brett) Leicht, Scott R. (Rosie) Goudy, Brett D. (Nichole) Goudy, and Lisa (Mark) Hornung; grandchildren, Nick Barrett, Chad (Amber) Barrett, Jake (Ashley) Leicht, Conner (Alli Keene) Leicht, Ryan Goudy, Tyler Goudy, Dylan Goudy, Casey (Cale) Harden, Courtney Goudy, Brett Goudy II, Taylor Hornung, Olivia Hornung, and Kendall Hornung; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday January 6, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Dave Stout officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that masks be worn during the service and visitation.
