Jeannie was born February 25, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Delores (McGee) Acela.
She enjoyed going to work, shopping, and long talks with friends and family by phone. She loved a good joke. As well as a few hands of black jack at the Tama, Toledo, Iowa casino.
She is survived by her brothers, James and Robert Acela; her children, Damon (Adrienne) Lewis and Nicholas Hobbs; her granddaughters Taylor (Gerard Henderson) and Shianne Lewis (Charquan Hargrove); great-grandchildren, De'Shaun Trombone Jr., Ta'Myah Foreman, and King Freeman.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson, Angelo Robert Trombone.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
