Wanda met and fell in love with a handsome gentleman by the name of Jack Powell. They were married on June 9, 1951 in Piggott, Arkansas and to this union two sons were born David and Paul. Several years later they adopted a son named Derek.
Wanda worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years. She worked at hospitals in Southeast, Missouri and she would later become a home health care nurse. She loved taking care of others and always put others before herself. She enjoyed reading, going to the casino, watching MeTV every evening and Jimmy Swaggart on Sunday morning.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Goldie (Letner) Potter; husband Jack W. Powell; two sons David Powell and Derek Eaton; one brother Elsie Eugene and wife Niva Mae Potter; two sisters Virginia Louise and husband Joe Buchanan, Frances and husband James Pritchet.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Lesa Mizell, officiating.
Interment will follow at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.
