Paul P. Green, age 86 of Ligonier, PA formerly of Appleridge Senior Living in Horseheads, NY passed away at his son's home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Born November 30, 1935 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late John C. and Anna M. (Greenfield) Green, Jr. Paul received his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Baptist College (now Eastern University) in St Davids, PA, was a Post-Graduate of Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Newton, MA and earned is Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Eastern University's Palmer Theological Seminary in St Davids, PA. He is a retired Chaplain and Lt Col of the USAF and a retired minister. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed traveling and model trains.Paul & Jane hosted overseas travel 12 times and visited 46 different countries. Paul had 45 years of active ordained ministry, some in churches and some in the USAF. First Baptist Church, North Oxford, MA 1960-1964; Odessa Baptist Church, NY 1965-1968; First Baptist Church, Watkins Glen, NY 1966-1968; United States Air Force, Blytheville AFB. Arkansas 1968-1970; Elmendorf AFB, Alaska (4 sites) 1970-1971; Kirtland AFB, NM 1971-1974; Misawa Air Base, Japan 1975-1977; Yoked Churches of Knoxville, PA (First Baptist & United Methodist) 1978-1987; Dover AFB, DE 1980-1993 (Reserve Duty); Trinity Baptist Church, Scranton, PA 1987-1996. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jane E. (Sargeant) Green; his children, Nancy (Doug) Young of Knoxville, PA and Tim (Kimberly) Green of Ligonier, PA; Grandchildren: Natalie (Adam) Taylor of Lawrenceville, PA, Allison Young of Lawrenceville, PA, John (Amber) Green of Mt Vernon, OH, Kathryn (Kaleb) Yandrick of Cleveland, OH, Alex Raine of Ligonier, PA and Michelle Croyle of Connellsville, PA; Great Grandchildren: Elianna Green and Shepard Green; his brother, Richard Green of Newark, DE and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Friday, 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Knoxville Yoked Church on Saturday, 11:00 AM with Pastor Deborah Loessy officiating.
