Doris Zenora Bancroft Hopkins, 86, of Pocomoke City, MD, passed away peacefully, on Monday, October 4, 2021 at her Pocomoke City home, surrounded by her family that had lovingly cared for her in her final years. Born on May 30, 1935 in Cleveland, TN, she was a daughter of the late Darius Bancroft and the late Estella Ferguson Bancroft.

Doris served as a retail stock clerk for many years with Ames and Roses Department stores. She was an active member of the former Pocomoke Church of God, now the Living Waters Inspirational Church of God for as long as her health permitted and will be missed by her church family.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Ramona Denese Gillespie and her husband Gary, with whom Doris has lived with for the past two years in Pocomoke City and Vanessa Ann Irvin and her husband Jeffrey of Bloxom, VA; one son, Sherrill Lamont Hopkins and his wife Denise of Pocomoke City, MD; Sister, Gennevieve Bancroft McFarland; two granddaughters, Lisa Tatum-Woods and her husband Charles, and Laura Hopkins; six grandsons, Nicholas Hopkins, Andy Hopkins, Jeffrey Irvin Jr. (Coleen Costello), Johnny Irvin (Angela Brass), Bobby Irvin, and Michael Irvin (Katie) and many extended family members including nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Ralph, Cletus, Jack, Delbert, Lafawn, and Donnelly Bancroft, two sisters, Naomi Bancroft Clingan.
