Jeremy S Parks, white male age 45 interred in Maple Park Cemetery July 17, 2020.

Jeremy Steven Parks passed away on July 6, 2020 at age 45.

Jeremy was born in Springfield on March 13, 1975 to Rick Parks and Connie Graves. After graduating from Glendale High School, he followed in in his father's footsteps and pursued a business degree. His business ventures included managing a Jiffy Lube, starting a lawn care business, and owning Ozark Rentals. He also worked alongside his father and grandfather selling homes.

Jeremy always had an adventurous spirit, right down to the pets he owned. Much to the dismay of his parents, over the years Jeremy adopted a stingray, a Ball python, a parakeet, and an aquarium full of piranhas. He loved venturing the great outdoors through his many floats, hikes, and climbs. This was especially the case during his time in Colorado where he successfully summited multiple mountains. Jeremy was driven by his competitive side. Throughout his life, he loved playing and watching sports. He could often be found in the backyard shooting hoops with his siblings or dominating his parents in arm wrestling competitions.

Growing up, family was incredibly important to Jeremy. When he wasn't spending time with his parents and grandparents, he was making mischief in the neighborhood with his cousins. He also loved the trips taken with family, like their annual summer trip to Allendale resort, where invaluable memories were created. On one notable, impromptu occasion, he drove from Springfield to the Canadian border and back with his grandpa before the age of sixteen to "learn how to drive." One of Jeremy's proudest accomplishments from this time, though, was his flawless Kirk Cameron-esque curly mullet, a feat of which most boys in the 90s could only dream.

Jeremy was an adoring brother and uncle and loved spending time with the kids in the family. At every family event, Jeremy was planted patiently on the ground playing any number of nonsensical games with a huge grin plastered on his face. It was not all fun and games with Jeremy as a big brother, though. His sisters can attest to the trauma of when Jeremy pinned them on the ground and popped their toes. Similarly, the family somehow endured when Jeremy let off stink bombs in the van every year after the Broiler Festival. However, Jeremy's most impressive performance as "embarrassing big brother" was when he showed up just before his sister's first date dressed head to toe as a clown to greet her teenage suitor.

Jeremy's later years were spent with his loving partner, Valentine, in Colorado, returning to Springfield to visit family and take care of his father and grandfather in their final months.

Jeremy is preceded in death by father, Rick; and niece, Chloe. He is survived by his partner, Valentine, and her granddaughter, Emily; siblings Shannon, Mandi, Rustin, Taylor, and Stetler; mother, Connie; and step-mother, Becky.
