John Henry Rice, age 73 of Trenton, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 2, 2022. John was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 2, 1948 to Robert Rice and Cecilia (Nistler) Rice. John worked at Champion Paper Company for over 38 years. On February 21, 1970 in Hamilton, he married Karla Green. John loved studying the Bible, wood working, fishing, photography, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family.
John is survived by his loving spouse, Karla Rice; his daughters, Veronica Rice, Rebecca (Johnny) Laws, April (Walter III) Schneider, Diana (Timothy) Frodge; his grandchildren, Samantha (Shawn) Alcorn, Johnathon Laws, Michael "Nate" Gray, Timothy Frodge Jr., KaSarah Laws, Kayla Schneider, Alyssa Davis; his great grandchildren, Aiden Laws, Ava Alcorn, and Jackson Alcorn; and his sisters, Laura (Richard) Jones and Sherry (Tommie) Evans; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cecilia Rice; and his siblings, William Rice, James Rice, and Sue Rice.
Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Trenton, 305 Cypress Ave, Trenton, Ohio, on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Carmody officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
