Barbara Jean Wood, 84, of Davenport, IA, went home Sunday, January 2, 2022, to be with her beloved husband, Bill.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, from 10-12 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, followed by funeral service at 12 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family Barbara Jean was born July 30, 1937 to Cecil and Alice (Stevens) Norman in Centerville, IA. She was united in marriage to Bill Wood on June 29, 1963 in Davenport, IA. She worked in housekeeping at the old Mercy Hospital in Davenport and for many years. Barbara loved being outdoors and planting flowers. She enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Those left missing her dearly include daughters: Annette Wood, Rita (Rod) Skinner, Sandy (Brian Sr.) Lebs and Karen Wood; sisters, Rita Price and Diana Trivette; brother, Gary Norman; grandchildren: Alyssa, Evan, Brian, Jr., Tanner, Olivia, Jalane, Alex, Dylan, and Eric; and a great grandson on the way. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Genesis East Medical Center for their phenomenal care.
