SHAKOPEE, MN - MARQUETTE, MI - Emma Ann (Barger) Miller, age 77, former Big Bay and Marquette resident, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Born February 10, 1943, in Marquette, a daughter of Alexander and Cora (Feltner) Barger, Emma was raised in Big Bay and attended the local school. On December 30, 1965, Emma was united in marriage to Donald Miller and together the couple made their home in Marquette and eventually built a home at their property on Pioneer Road. A homemaker, she loved to cook, was an avid reader who often read a book in a day, and enjoyed knitting.
Emma is survived by her children, Lisa (Kevin) Bergs of Big Lake, MN, Ruth Pabst of Shakopee, MN, and Daryl (Heather) Miller of Howard Lake, MN; her grandchildren, Kyle (Taylor) Bergs and Brandon Bergs, Kelly (Mitch) Gilbert, Curtis Miller, and Christopher (Kayla) Pabst; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Katherine Alexander of Lower Michigan, Maggie (Rod) Kehlenbeck of Springfield, NE, Marta (Rich) Yatchak of Lower Michigan, and Harriet (Norman) Contois of Marquette; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a son-in-law, John Pabst on November 27, 2020; and six siblings.
Graveside services will be held at Northland Chapel Gardens on Friday, June 25, at 11:00 am.
