Jose Guadalupe Rivera, Sr., fondly known as "Lupe", 74, of Fresno, Texas, passed away on December 30, 2021. He was born on December 12, 1947 in Mercedes, Texas to Marin and Blasa Olivo Rivera.
In addition to his parents, Lupe is preceded in death by siblings, Delia Perez, Estela Rodriguez, Maria Louisa Rodriguez, Frank Rivera, Marin Rivera, Jr. and Robert Rivera.
Survivors include his children, Jose Guadalupe Rivera, Jr., Melissa Rivera Lockhart, and Michelle Rivera; siblings, Rosa Garza, Ernestina Delgado, Aurora Tovar, Lydia Vela, and Raul Rivera. Lupe was the proud grandpa to Johnnie Lockhart-Johnston, Elissa Lockhart, Amanda Rivera, and Rachel Ramirez; along with 5 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
