Mary Ellen Geiger, 77, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Ayden Healthcare of Belle Springs, Bellefontaine, OH.
Mary Ellen was born on December 10, 1944, in Dayton, OH, a daughter of the late Byron and Marie Hinders Allgyer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Allgyer.
Mary Ellen married Richard "Dick" Geiger on June 2, 1979, and he survives. She is also survived by a son, Andrew (Hortencia) Geiger of Chicago, IL, three grandchildren, Aryanna, Kaitlyn, and Alexander.
Mary Ellen was a 1963 graduate of Dayton Chaminade-Julienne Catholic School. She earned her bachelor's degree of education at the University of Dayton in 1967.
She taught at Trotwood-Madison and moved to Indian Lake with Dick, where she operated Geiger Mobile Home Park in Lakeview and kept the books for Geiger Construction.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, OH.
Mary Ellen services two terms on the council for the Village of Lakeview.
She enjoyed travelling, and being outdoors either gardening, or fishing.
She loved to watch professional football and basketball and was a dedicated fan of Ohio State football.
She was a true compassionate animal lover that found comfort in raising and caring for cats, ducks, and animals of all kinds.
Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will officiate A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Mary of the Woods Church, 464 Madison Ave, Russells Point, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
