Etta Virginia Walker, 95, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

Mrs. Walker was a lifetime resident of Norfolk and Virginia Beach and was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. She retired from civil service with the US Navy in 1995 after 25 years of service. Her greatest strength was the personal relationship she had with Jesus Christ and the many close friends she made over life's journey. She is predeceased by her husband, Aaron Burley Walker, and a grandson, Rod Walker.

She was survived by her son, Tommy Walker of Wicksburg, AL; daughter, Joyce Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Brad Walker of Belleville, IL, Jeffrey McPhatter of Wake Forest, NC, Lisa McCoy of Chesapeake, VA, and Chad McPhatter of Ashville, NC; and ten great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at London Bridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friend's one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summit Church Asheville, 12 S. French Broad Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
