Harold Junior Wilson, 91, of Fort Smith passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Harold was born February 16, 1930 in Waldron, Arkansas to Thomas and Rossi (Shores) Wilson.

In 1948, Harold enlisted in the US Army. As a Pfc, he courageously fought in five battles during the Korean War. He was awarded the President Unit Citation (US), President Unit Citation (ROK), Korean Service Medal, 5 Bronze Service Stars, and 2 Campaign Stars prior to his honorable discharge in 1952 but, what Harold was most proud of was that his son, Tom, his daughter, Laura, and his granddaughter, Jessica, all served our country with a combined 28 years of service.
Not long after his return home from the war, he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Panyi on January 8, 1953 and they had three children. Harold loved his children, grands and great grands. Nothing pleased him more than to share stories and antidotes with his loved ones. He always had a camera on him and would take pictures everywhere he went.
In 1954, Harold embarked on a successful entrepreneurship in the restaurant business, Dawn's Grill, on Irving Park Road in Chicago, Illinois. Then in 1972, Harold moved his family to Fort Smith, Arkansas where he continued his entrepreneurship with a Gulf Gas Station on Jenny Lind. In his later years, he worked at Beckham Dairy and then OK Foods.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Wilson; his son, Thomas Wilson of Fort Smith; two daughters, Karen Nelson of Peoria, IL and Laura Durden of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren, Josephine Wilson Seamans, Jennifer Wilson Ross, Jessica Wilson Robinson, Christopher Nelson, Brandon and Michaelann Durden; and eight great grandchildren, Rhiannon and Thomas Ross, Aislinn and Eban Robinson, Jack, Ryne, and Sam Nelson, and Harper Durden.

The funeral service will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel, 4500 Jenny Lind Road in Fort Smith followed by a burial with military honors in U.S. National Cemetery.
