Mary "Flo" Stafford, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born on April 24, 1922, in Brownwood, TX, to John Taylor and Minnie Lee Dabbs. She attended school in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School on May 28, 1940. She worked for the 5 and 10 cent store in Brownwood and managed a store in Oklahoma during World War II. After marrying James Stafford on August 3, 1947, the Stafford family lived in Denton for 13, years and Flo worked for the American Red Cross and as a bookkeeper for the Allen Butane Co.
Flo and James retired into the Fort Clark Springs (Brackettville) community where they enjoyed 27 years of volunteering at the United Methodist Church, playing Bridge, playing golf, planning golf tournaments, and entertaining their grandchildren.
Flo is survived by her daughter, Judy Walther (Mark); 4 grandchildren, Karen Chandler (Patrick), Amy Walther (Zach), Kyle Walther, and Scott Walther (Misty); 4 great-grandchildren, Oren Walther, Connor Chandler, Ella Chandler, and Hadleigh Walther.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Eastlawn Memorial Park, Inc., 1921 Early Blvd., Early, TX. 76802.
