Obituary shared by Cora Parsons with Nancy L. Sparrow of Olivia Jane Rudder Franklin:
"Mrs. O.J. (Olivia Jane) Franklin departed this life Monday at the home of her son Robert Franklin. Mrs. O.J.Franklin passed peacefully to her reward, November 28th, 1904. She had protracted an illness and was buried in McLoud Cemetery after a brief service by Rev. (name not legible). She was born near the town of Knoxville, TN., May 9th, 1818. In her girlhood days she found happiness in her Savior and joined the Baptist Church. At the age of 18 years she was united in marriage with Samuel Franklin, and lived with him amid the scenes of her childhood until the first of the Civil War, when they removed to IL. There about forty years ago, he died and she remained a widow faithful to his memory to the last. Some years ago she removed to Walnut, KS and from there to a farm south of Guthrie, where in 1898 she joined the M.E. (Methodist Espicopal) Church at Charter Oaks. About 3 years ago she removed to McLoud. She was a noble woman of deep religious convictions, a good mother, faithful unto the end. An example to those careless of the future; an inspiration to those who looked with her to the coming of their Redeemer, she is at rest in the joy of her Lord. The unbroken family of children left behind are: Mrs. Sarah Clay and Thomas Franklin of Texas, Mrs. Malinda Hedges, Mrs. Mary Wolff and William of KS, Mrs Martha Montgomery of IL, James Franklin of Guthrie, OK, Miss Belle Franklin and Robert Franklin of McLoud, OK, who are joined by the many friends here and elsewhere in mourning her loss."
---------------
Per Clifford Arnold, great-grandson(descendant of Sarah Franklin Clay), Olivia Jane is buried in an unmarked grave that was purchased in the name of Robert Franklin.
---------------
Olivia Jane Rudder was the daughter of Robert Rudder, Jr. and Eunice Blair.
