Jacob Steven Cheechov is the son of Steven Cheechov and Dorothy Dolgoff. His parents were born and died in Russia. There are three known children: Jacob, Filip, and Hazel.

Jacob married Martha Pavelivna Evanikoff (1870-1941) sometime before 1885 in Russia. There were nine known children: Mary, Steven, Anna, William, John, James, Nicholas, Katherine, and Jack. All of the children were born in Russia and the entire family immigrated to America from Russia in 1913.

The 1920 U.S. Federal Census shows the family living in Klamath county, Merrill township, Oregon on a farm. He rented the farm and all of the older children were laborers on the farm.

By 1930, the family was living in Elmira Township - Solano County, California. He and Martha were the only ones at the census address. It shows Jacob was 20 years old when he married Martha and she was 18 years old.

Jacob Steven Cheechov, a resident of the Elmira area since
1920, died at the home of his son, James Cheechov, on Wednesday evening after a lingering illness. Cheechov was a native of Russia and had been in the United States since 1913.

He is survived by four sons; William and John of San Francisco, James of Elmira and Nick of Vacaville; two Daughters Mrs. Catherine Wheeler of Brisbane and Mrs Anne Slevkov of Santa Rosa; a brother Philip and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Fadeif both of San Francisco.

Funeral services will be held in San Francisco at the Molokan Church on Sunday with interment in that city. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of McCune Funeral Home.
