Janet was a 1969 graduate of Maconaquah High School. She retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo with over 37 years' service. She also worked for Elmwood Elementary School in Peru for 13 years. Janet was a devout believer and member of Temple Baptist Church in Kokomo for 50 years. She enjoyed crochet, reading, embroidery and shopping trips with her best friend. She especially enjoyed planning family get-togethers with her sisters and entire family. Her summer scavenger hunts were a family favorite that have left her loved ones with many cherished memories.
Surviving family include her children, Leslie Elson, Ryan (Lesley) Elson, and Laura (Bruce) Rood; her grandchildren, Luke Rood, Jaci Elson and Kylee Elson. She is also survived by two sisters, Karen Huskey and Jeanne Scott and husband Jim Parsons. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Diana Crockett Jackson and brother-in-law, Gary Huskey.
A celebration of Janet's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Steve Zerby officiating. Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
